Welcome to Learn About Liberty.com. Our goal is to provide an all-encompassing information resource for those interested in learning about the history, state and implications of liberty. The idea of liberty has seen a resurgence in recent years, and many come to want to know more about various topics, but are overwhelmed by the breadth and depth of information available. We hope that this resource will (eventually) provide you with all of the information you might be interested in, regardless of how little or how much that might be. We say “eventually” because this site is to be continually growing, as the amount of information available is very large. We’ll do our best to condense it as much as possible while retaining accuracy and relevance. This site is most certainly a continuing work in progress. Not only will you find, at times, articles that are either filler stubs or text from Wikipedia, articles won’t be static. As new information relevant to existing articles is found, it will be incorporated into the text as appropriate. If you go very deeply, you’ll find some articles that are in the process of being written and some projects (such as the annotation of classic works) to be incomplete. Hopefully, while we continue to expand the content of the site, you’ll still find what is available useful. The most important thing to remember as you read through the information on this site is don't take our word for it! Investigate with other sources for yourself. Although we have tried diligently to do our research on each and every topic covered here, we may be mistaken about some point or may be misled by some fallacy of logic. There are literally thousands, if not millions, of resources for your education on this topic. Our site is meant to be a starting point for your education, not the completion of it. We are not the final word. Your own investigations are. Because we live in the United States, most of the information will be from the point of view of the history, politics and policies of my country, but regardless of where you live, we hope you’ll find the information here useful if you’re interested in educating yourself. Toward these ends, we provide a number of resources. - Original Articles — You’ll find a wide range of articles on every topic relating to the quest for liberty. This section is broken into a number of subsections such as The Constitution and Bill of Rights or Monetary Policy
- Annotated Classics — Here you'll find classic works from the history of liberty, ranging from philosophical works that influenced the Founding Fathers to the works of the Founding Fathers themselves, such as the United States Constitution and the Federalist Papers. When available in a license we can freely use, you’ll also find audio versions of these classic documents. This section also has subsections, such as Law and Politics.
- Biographical Sketches — We include brief biographies of persons who were instrumental to the increase and the decrease of liberty, concentrating on those portions of their lives that have had an impact or the amount of freedom in the world. Subsections in this section include Founding Fathers and Modern Personalities.
- Books — Regardless of how complete we attempt to make the information on this site, we can never claim to have everything available on a topic so wide as “liberty.” Therefore, we provide a number of books that might be useful in continuing your education. Here you’ll find subsections such as History and Politics.
- Glossary of Terms — Many individuals becoming familiar with the ideals of liberty for the first time are overwhelmed by the terms used. This section will allow you to look up terms used by others in the quest for liberty, and provide links for further information.
- Opinion Pieces — Although the predominate amount of information on this site is meant to be factual (albeit with a stated bias), here is the place where you’ll find reading material that is, by definition, opinionated.
- Quotes — At the top of every page you’ll find a random quote relevant to the search for liberty. If you’re interested in browsing the database in full, you can do so here.
- Timeline — A timeline of events is provided, covering the order of historical events important to the cause of liberty.
